The Simple Things

I started this blog so that all of my family and friends that are out of state could stay updated on our life and feel as if they weren't missing out on a ton. Therefore, I often blog about them when they come to visit so we can document the times we are together. As I read over older posts I realize that because of this, I rarely post pics or blog about the people that we see all the time...particularly Ryan's family. I just have to take the time to tell everyone how lucky I am to have such an amazing family so close by. They take such good care of me and make me feel so loved. I wanted to give two specific examples of the simple kindnesses that Ryan's parents often give me and I am so appreciative of. FIrst off, Di (Ry's mom), has been watching Tate at LEAST one day a week pretty much since I had him. As soon as I went back to work she took on the responsibility/commitment of watching Tate each week, without question. She loves watching him and it feels so good to be able to go to work and know he is in good hands. I can't even express how grateful I am for her.
And then there is Stanford. I married an amazing man and so many of his great qualities came from his dad. Ryan remembers the little things, and so does Stan. It all started with a comment I made when Stan and Di had balled up watermelon with a melon baller. I LOVE balled up melon! They make the perfect bite size pieces. So at times through the summer, when we go over for Sunday dinner, I will find a special bowl of melon balls that Stan would make just for me. And then as if that isn't nice enough, last Sunday, Stan had bought me my very own melon baller! I kid you not, you would have thought he bought me a new car, I was so excited! I had been looking for one and just couldn't find one anywhere. And all of Ryan's sibling as so great, I love them all so much. I truly feel so blessed. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to my wonderful in-laws. You are too good to me. I love you all! Here are some pics of the fabulous Durrant clan...
